Lady Carnarvon

Fiona, Countess of Carnarvon — author, historian, and chatelaine of Highclere Castle.

About

The Countess of Carnarvon

Fiona, Countess of Carnarvon, has lived at Highclere Castle since her marriage to the 8th Earl in 1999. As chatelaine of one of England's most celebrated country houses, she has dedicated herself to preserving and sharing its extraordinary heritage.

A bestselling author, Lady Carnarvon has written extensively about the history of Highclere and the remarkable people who have lived there — from Lady Almina, who turned the castle into a First World War hospital, to the 5th Earl, who funded Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb.

Her popular blog, Lady Carnarvon's Journal, offers a personal window into life at Highclere — the seasons, the gardens, the events, and the stories that make the estate so special.
